How are they made?

Moon Pads menstrual pads and stress incontinence pads are made of 100% cotton fabrics which breathe freely and are soft and gentle on the skin.

They are designed with wings, enabling them to be securely placed in regular pants without fear of movement or stains to outer clothing.

Moon Pads come in a range of sizes catering for light, medium, heavy or night-time flow. Some pad designs are also available with a waterproof nylon layer at the back for added security (waterproof pads are suitable for stress-incontinence or periods).

With absorbent cotton towelling on the inside and soft cotton fabric on the outside, Moon Pads are fully washable and reusable. Trials to date have proven the all cotton pads can be used well in excess of 200 times. (Just think how many months they will serve you!)

Sometimes I hear, "Help! My pad slips in my panties."

There are a few reasons why this could occur:

• The Moon Pad is being worn upside down - make sure that the side with the flaps attached is next to your skin. The flaps then go over the side stitching then around and under the crutch of your panties.
• You are wearing panties with a high cut leg, which makes the narrow part of the crutch longer - look for a pair of panties with a shorter crutch area. Bikini briefs are usually a good choice :)
• The occasional pad seems to have a mind of its own and likes to travel - only explanation I can come up with is that the fabric gets pulled in one direction during sewing which causes a creeping action in use - try changing the pad end for end (ie back to front) and you may well find it solves the problem.

Why don't the Moon Pads get stained?

The cold water soak is the secret for avoiding permanent blood stains. Don't ever put hot water or blood on blood - it will set the stain.

Most women keep a covered container (we often use a honey bucket or ice cream container, others have a special vessel) in the bathroom and put pads in to soak in cold water as they change them. They need to soak for at least 2 hours - but some leave them for a few days!

Simply rinse and add to the wash when you are doing other washing. For 95% of women the plain cold water soak gets all the blood out. For a few women they need to add either a little milk or a little salt to the soak water. And drying the pads outside in the sunshine is nature's bleach if you do happen to need it ;o)

How do I know which sizes to get?

The panty Liner, Regular and Super Pads are of similar absorbency as disposable pads of the same names. Buy the sizes you currently use.

How many pads do I need?

We recommend you have enough pads to make it through the two heaviest days of your period. Then one day's worth is in use while the other is in the wash, ready for Day 3.
