Moon Pads use the terms 'liner', 'regular' and 'super' because our cloth pads are similar in absorbency to disposables with the same names. The 'trifold' pad has been designed for women who have some heavy and some light days. Fold the towelling 'insert' into the pad to make it extra absorbent on the heavy days, use the pad alone for 'regular' absorbency for the lighter flow. Some other alternatives suggested by customers have included:
And have you thought of using your 'Passion Mat' as a night-time 'Moon Mat' to avoid any night-time 'leaks' messing your sheets? |

The Keeper can be a boon for women with heavy flows, especially if they have some clots. Several customers have reported flooding super pads in 20 to 30 minutes, but lasting up to 1 1/2 hours before needing to empty their Keepers. A panty liner MAY be needed as back up, but most woman do not need this. |

How will I know if I am washing cloth nappies properly? This is a question I often hear from new or expecting parents. My reply is that the baby's bottom will soon let you know if there is a problem! Silky skin tells you you are doing the right things! And on the rare occasion when nappy rash occurs, there are simple, practical solutions. And simple zinc cream will offer a soothing treatment in the meantime. The most common causes of nappy rash are: chemical sensitivity, bacterial rashes, and burning urine caused by dehydration. The solutions are, in order: use an extra rinse when washing the nappies, 'sterilize' by hanging nappies out in sunshine and fresh air, and remember that on a hot day or when teething a baby may need an extra drink or two of plain water! |
What Moon Pads' Customers are saying about our products...
From NSW: "Oh and I am using the pads due to a problem I have from having a hysterectomy at a very young age. When I sneeze or cough hard there is that little chance of a dribble or two. I put one of your pads on everyday and I know I am safe and secure. Just thought I would let you know how thrilled I am with your products!"
From Singapore: "We really enjoy using the Moon Pads. We wish that more people would get to enjoy the comfort."
From mother of new (third) baby: "I've got to have some more Zappy Nappies - we have a whole laundry basket of unfolded towelling squares and every time we change the baby we grab the Zappies - so I need more than the one dozen I have now!"
In general the recommended daily intake of calcium is 600mg. But pregnant, breast-feeding and post-menopausal women need about 1,200mg daily. Milk is very often cited as a good source of this mineral, but whole milk has a mere 120 mg calcium in each 100mls of milk, so you would need more than a litre to supply enough calcium from this source alone!
Did you know that 100g of low fat yoghurt has 165 mg? What about 100g of almonds or Brazil nuts for 234mg of calcium? Or how about some dried figs for 280gm. Parsley is a good source too, with 330mg per 100g. But even richer in calcium are hard cheese (800gm calcium/100g) and sesame seeds for a whopping 1200gms! How do your get your calcium?
